BLACK BEAN, SAUSAGE AND VENISON CHILI
          
Ingredients

  • ½ lb. Swaggerty’s Farm roll sausage
  • ½ lb. ground venison
  • 1 small can green chilies
  • 2 cans fire roasted tomatoes (14.5 oz. or one 28 oz.)
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 Tablespoon coca/chili spice. (Spice Islands® makes this. If you cannot find this, mix ½ Tablespoon chili powder and cocoa to make your own.)
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 1 large can or 2 small cans of black beans, rinsed and drained

 
Directions

  • Brown Swaggerty’s Farm Sausage and ground venison in a large stockpot. Half way through the browning, add in chopped onions and cook until onions are translucent.
  • Stir in green chilies, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, cocoa-chili powder, garlic powder, chicken broth, and black beans.
  • Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes. You can make ahead of time and reheat when ready to serve.
